Day 2...

A picture of something I ate today, and a song that I hate.

A good friend of mine had the screw on her glasses come out today, and we convinced our drawing teacher that she was blind without them and that both of us needed to go to the opticien to get them fixed. It was our fashion drawing class where nothing gets done, so we figured 15 minutes away would be good. Little did we know the screw on her Cartier frames were super special. We had to go to the Cartier store at Place Vendôme, clear across town to get them looked at, and even they didn't have the screw. We had to drop them off, and hopefully in 3 days they will be fixed. Since we were in the area anyways we stopped by Godiva so she could get a gift for a friend of ours getting plastic surgery today. She ended up buying more for us to eat in the cab ride home than for her friend. Lucky for her, I love Godiva too. The Hot chocolate and limited edition carrot cake truffles were to die for.

Le Carnaval des Animaux - Aquarium by Camille Saint-Saëns.

Not only is an aquarium not an animal (fossils arn't either but I don't mind that section as much), but the song is probably the most boring song to play on the violin. I hear this song everywhere, once at an actual aquarium in a seahorse exhibit, and every time I hate it just a little bit more.

Day 1...

Ok, so I haven't blogged in a while... a very long while... but I have been extremely busy doing a variety of things, so to get me back in the mood to talk about fashion and what not, I thought I would do one of those 30 day challenge things that everyone seems to be doing these days on facebook and blogger. So to kick start it off, a photo of myself today and what I did, and my favorite song at the moment.
I woke up this morning and gossiped with some friends back home for a little while. After getting ready I walked to school, which is something I love to do on Sundays. I live in the Marais, and have to cross the entire neighborhood to get to school which would be a problem except that I love my neighborhood. Everything in Paris is closed on Sundays except shops in the Marais. Everything is open and they close off all the streets to cars. It is so nice to just stroll around window shopping and not having to walk on the sidewalks that are riddled with dog poo. I sat at school for 7 hours basting and hand sewing the horsehair canvas for a tailored jacket I am making.

I really like this song by Skrillex at the moment. Something about how melodic and abstract it is makes it really enjoyable. The second half of it, where it picks up a nice progressive beat makes me want summer to come just a little bit faster; to be with friends dancing the night away outside.

Tunnels...

When Rick throws a party, you go. Even if it means making your way through the underground below Invalides.
