Day 8...

A place I would like to visit, and a song I know all the words to.

Courchevel

Mont Saint Michel

Montauban

I guess right now I wouldn't pick some far off place to visit. Really I want to explore France. After traveling to Andorra by train, I realized there is so much more to this country than I first thought. The landscape is so diverse and the towns all have such unique personalities. Perhaps I'll just forgo a meal a each day to save up money, and go someplace every month.

Salt-n-Pepa - Push It

What can I say, I grew up in the 90's and as a result have a deep fondness for the music of that decade... well not just music, the fashion was pretty amazing as well. Me and my friend Jenny know the lyrics to every Salt-n-Pepa song out there, Push It just happens to be my favorite one.

Day 7...

A picture of something that inspires me, and a song that reminds me of a certain event.

Music and the subcultures that evolved from it; a constant and inexhaustible source of inspiration for me. Images by Hedi Slimane, who is a huge influence on my own work.

DJ Gregory and Gregor Salto - Canoa

It was 7am in a club buried within the sewer system of Paris. Carl Cox was DJing and he put this song on, everyone went wild. You could tell everyone was going through the same thing; they were lost in the music. The world slips away from you, and you just live purely in that blissful moment, surrounded by the sound and lights. It was magic. I was playing this song in school the next day, and a senior fashion design student who I never talked to before came running up to me "Were you there last night?!" I looked at her and smiled. Magic.

After Margiela...

After seeing the best show in the 3 seasons I have been going to the Paris shows, I was greeted by the most amazing sunset. Oh the magic of fashion week.

Day 6...

A picture of a pet I want to have and a song that reminds me of someplace.

I've said it before on here, and I will say it again... A french bulldog. Want one, need one, gotta have one. My goal used to be a pug, but I've come to the conclusion that pugs are like polka dots, you must always have multiples. I'm not ready for multiple dogs, and frenchies do perfectly fine on their own, and even better when dressed like santa.

For some reason this is my song for Paris. Specifically Place de la Concorde at night.  I don't know why though. Every time I hear it though I go right back to that amazing vista of the giant obelisk and Hotel de Crillon with the Champs Elysee and Eiffel Tower in the background.

Something like 2- 3 years ago, I snuck out of my house one night to go to the Paul van Dyk concert with my friend Vicky and our usual gang of people. My mom called me sometime around 12:30 mad beyond belief that I would leave and go out when we were leaving for a cruise in the morning. The next day, still on the high of being at a Paul van Dyk concert, and not in the mood to give up that moment quite yet, I listened to this song on repeat the entire flight down to Miami, and most of the 5 day cruise. Now when I hear it, I instantly think of Miami, palm trees, big boats, and that wonderful feeling I have when I travel of being important and going somewhere.

Day 5...

A photo of me two years ago, and a song that reminds me of someone.

Starting art school.

Me and my friend Vicky still call each other every time we hear this song.

Day 4...

My favorite Picture of my best friend and I, and a song that makes me sad.

We like to joke about back in the day when we had perfect skin, and no bags under our eyes.

Andrea Bocelli - Caruso

Day 3...

A picture that makes me laugh, and a song that makes me happy.

What are big brothers for if not ruining precious memories of your travels?

Crystal Fighters - Champion Sound (alt. version)
